Where to place attention, budget and measurement effort.

Central finding, 2026

What changed in 2025 and what it means now in 2026, for African marketing leaders.

Africa's marketing opportunity is expanding, but there is no single African media market. Reach, channel economics, payments, language and consumer pressure differ too much for continent-wide execution without market design.

How the study works

One method, kept stable year to year

Public evidence first: official statistics, platform and industry datasets, then reproducible audits of public material. Every figure carries its source, geography and collection date. Continent-wide language is used only where a finding holds across at least three regions and seven markets; otherwise it is labelled by country.

The original layer

What this study measures

A cross-market campaign, channel and commerce evidence audit: public campaigns coded for channel mix, creative format, local language, creator use, payment pathway, proof, call to action and measurement signal across 14 anchor markets.

Where this lands

This study maps to Distribution Strategy.

Market-system planning is a distribution question: which mix of owned, earned and paid reaches the audience that is actually reachable, and converts through the payment path the market uses. That mix, decided and costed, is the Distribution Strategy Sprint.
